Tulalip Admistration Building (Mithun)


Tulalip, WA



The Tulalip Administration Building brings tribal government offices and services together in one location, creating a practical and cultural heart for the community. Low-impact development strategies protect the local watershed, while the building’s long, narrow footprint and floor-to-ceiling windows bring the natural environment in, whether looking west to the water or east to the woods.



I produced this rendering that shows the sustainabilty strategies implemented in the project: raingardens, daylighting, natural ventilation, ground heat exchange and solar glare protection.

Kitsap SEED Project (Mithun)


Bremerton, Washington


86,000 sf on a 7-acre site / total size of parcel: 75 acres



The Port of Bremerton seeks to integrate Sustainable Energy and Economic Development (SEED) within a world-class campus for clean energy technology companies. Sustainable site development objectives focused on establishing a reliable infrastructure that combines existing renewable and non-fossil fuel energy sources to meet all energy needs. Low-impact site development features include site-wide pervious surfaces and site water management systems that integrate storm water, rainwater collection, and waste water treatment. Phase one is targeting LEED® Platinum for all construction.

2051 Madison (Mithun)

128,000 gsf / 100 units, 100 below-grade parking spaces, 6,700 sf retail



Set in Seattle’s oldest residential community, LEED® Silver targeted 2051 Madison is designed to promote a newfound urban vitality for residents of this flourishing neighborhood. The building concept is sensitive to the cultural context of its surroundings, and features sustainable strategies that promote a healthy way of life, such as natural daylighting systems and a green roof.



These renderings were done to show the overall massing and feel from the street.

Federal Way Regional Library Renovation: Entry Canopy Studies (Mithun)


Federal Way, Washington


25,000 sf renovation



The library serves residents of southern King County and northern Pierce County with a full range of library services including programs of interest to all ages, and classes in the use of the library and its computers.



The Entry of the Library was studied with different canopy options. Each option took into account how the pedestrian would approach the building and how the materials/signage would attract visitors.

Puget Sound Blood Center (Mithun)


Renton, WA



After the Northwest Tissue Center had outgrown their processing area, crowding was affecting numerous departments and in particular limiting anticipated increases in the production volumes of Blood Testing and Blood Processing. The acquisition of the Orilla Laboratory Building in Renton not only afforded 2,500 sf of clean room space, but an additional 25,000 sf for expansion of Blood Products and the addition of the Cross Match Lab and a Facilities Support Shop.



The renderings produced showed the new interior common space.

Nordheim Court, University of Washington (Mithun)


Seattle, WA



Working closely with housing staff, faculty and student groups, Mithun created a design concept to address the need for additional independent living alternatives for undergraduates. Nordheim Court includes four-bedroom townhouses over apartments, gathering spaces, and underground parking. The project incorporates sustainable design principles including recycled products, saving existing trees and using the pond for stormwater retention and is LEED® Certified by the USGBC.



The renderings show the sustainable aspects of the apartments.

Salmon Bay Center (Mithun)


Seattle, WA



Mithun is currently designing the Salmon Bay Center marina redevelopment master plan. When complete, Salmon Bay will be a keystone in the revitalization of Ballard, one of Seattle’s most vibrant neighborhoods. The area will provide much-needed connection to the waterfront, and will allow Ballard to reclaim its Pacific Northwest character.



This renderings show overall massing in relation to the surrounding environment.

Western Washington University (Mithun)


Bellingham, Washington



Mithun is working with Western Washington University on the addition of Buchanan Towers, a prominent student housing complex on their campus. Our team worked with the University to set sustainable and programmatic goals in order to provide an appealing living community for returning students. The project will provide collaborative informal spaces for the users while fostering diversity, inclusiveness, and interaction.



Renderings were produced to study brick pattern and color.

Harley Marine Corporate Headquarters (Mithun)


Seattle, WA



The design for the new Harley Marine Services complex includes a new corporate office headquarters building, new marine services shop space, renovation of the existing office building and low-impact development site improvements. The design will address project challenges including shoreline restrictions, height limits, access and contaminated soils, while leveraging the site’s tremendous views and location to create a operationally efficient LEED Gold office—and a legacy headquarters for this family-owned company.



Preliminary massing renderings gave scale and overall materials.

Polyclinic (Mithun)


Seattle, WA



Mithun is partnering with the Polyclinic to expand their clinic and provide new space for doctor's services. The Early Design Guidance package provided different massing options taking into account zoning and overall site characteristics.
